Unique Coffee Varieties
Pacamara is a unique coffee variety known for its large bean size and complex flavor profile. It originated in El Salvador as a hybrid of the Pacas and Maragogipe varieties. Pacamara beans are often described as having a balance of fruity, bright acidity and smooth, rich flavors, sometimes with notes of citrus, red berries, and stone fruit.
Geisha (also spelled Gesha, originated in the Gesha forest of Ethiopia and later traveled to Latin America) coffee is most famously associated with Panama, it has found a home and gained significant recognition in other Central American countries, including El Salvador. Geisha coffee is known for its delicate and complex flavor profile, often described as having floral and sweet notes like jasmine, honey, and black tea. In addition, you might also find notes of bergamot, tropical fruits (like pineapple, strawberry, and wild blueberry), peach, nectarine, and pomegranate. It’s characterized by a bright and vibrant acidity, complemented by a smooth texture. It is often described as clean, delicate, and lyrical, with a smooth, vanishing aftertaste.
Bourbon is a foundational Arabica coffee variety, and a significant portion of El Salvador’s specialty coffee exports are dedicated to it. Bourbon thrives in El Salvador’s high-altitude volcanic soils, leading to a slower maturation process and richer, more flavorful beans. The flavor profile often features notes of brown sugar, caramel, honey, or even butterscotch, as well as fruity notes with hints of berries like blackberry and strawberry, cherries, green apple, or even stone fruit, citrus, pear, and orange. There are also notes of chocolate, nuts (like almonds or hazelnuts), and sometimes a hint of spice like clove or cinnamon. Medium to full body with a smooth, velvety, or syrupy mouthfeel and a pleasant finish.

Chocolate and Cocoa
Peruvian chocolate is considered among the best in the world, with Peru being the 9th largest cocoa producer globally and the largest organic producer. Peruvian cocoa has a unique flavor profile, often described as aromatic and fruity, with subtle cocoa bitterness and a bright finish. The Criollo variety, especially from the Piura region, is particularly sought after for its exceptional quality.
Alpaca Wool – clothing and yarn
Peruvian Alpaca wool is world-class quality. Alpaca fibers have a smooth, rounded microscopic structure, so garments feel luxuriously soft (especially “Baby Alpaca”) and trap air for superb insulation without weight. Alpaca wool is stronger than sheep’s wool and resists pilling, so properly cared-for pieces can last decades. It is also hypoallergenic: alpaca wool lacks the lanolin found in sheep’s wool, making it gentler on sensitive skin.
